OhhhBaby — baby gift-box builder (UK)

An English store where the customer builds a personalised baby gift box: box colour and size, contents, engraving.

The Challenge

The owner sold gift boxes through Instagram and direct messages. Every order was a manual conversation about box colour, contents and engraving. She needed a store where a parent or grandparents build the box themselves, from a phone, and pay, and she receives a ready order with a packing list. Plus free delivery over £80 and next-day delivery in the UK.

My Solution

The store runs on WooCommerce as the back end (products, orders, Stripe payments) and I built the front end in Next.js so the box builder is fast on a phone: Lighthouse mobile 95 points, LCP 2.8 s, CLS 0 (measured 2 Sep 2026). The builder walks the customer through the steps: box colour, size, contents, engraving, gift card. There is a blog with newborn-gift guides, which after a few months started bringing traffic from Google, and a 'who we are' section, because with children's gifts the buyer checks who they are buying from. The whole project was delivered remotely, without a single meeting.
